Your senior portraits are one of the most important photographs you will ever have taken. We are honored you have chosen our studio to capture these special memories! The information below will help to ensure that your session is a success and everything you want! It will help you prepare to look your best and have a great time!
These are tips to help make your senior portraits the best they can be!
ARRIVE EARLY!
Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get to your session (especially an outside session). You don’t want to be rushed and have pink cheeks in your pictures! Give yourself at least ten or 15 minutes before your session to have time to unload and prepare your dressing changes, any make-up or hair items and any props you bring with you.
PLEASE – if for some reason you are going to be late, let us know! We try our very best to respect out client’s time and begin and end your sessions on time. Often we have back to back sessions, and if you’re running late, it’s possible you may have to reschedule in order for us to accommodate our other clients. Please let us know!
Arriving early will also give you more opportunity to discuss what you are looking for with the photographer! This is YOUR session.. so you get to choose – although we are happy to help with ideas!
CLOTHING!
Avoid stripes and plaids! Of course, if plaid is your all-time favorite – bring it along – but please know that solids make for much better photographs!
Bring a variety of colors for your clothing changes. Try not to bring 5 outfits that are all blue – even if it’s your favorite color or what you look best in! This will make for pictures that appear all the same… and you want variety to choose from!
Vary the style – don’t have all t-shirts, or all sweaters – or all tank tops – Mix it up ! Again – variety is the spice of life – AND Pictures!
Vary the level of dress – bring along your favorite pair of jeans, and your favorite after 5 dinner dress! Bring along your band uniform, or your favorite pair of shorts and flipflops… this is your chance to let your personality shine!
